We woke up on Christmas morning to 40 degree weather and left the house around 8:10 AM in search of a cab...amazingly enough we caught one at the corner of 14th and Clifton. We got to the airport and checked our baggage; smoked a couple of cigarettes and boarded our oversold flight to Ft. Lauderdale. We made it on time to what turned out to be a nice 70 degree day in FL. Although the baggage area was a mess at the airport we managed to finally get our luggage and head outside to meet Lori and Taylor who had been driving around the airport and sitting in the "cell phone" waiting area. Mind you they drank a bottle of champers on the way there so no worries that they had to wait a few minutes.
We drove south towards Miami and decided to hit South Beach to see if we could find anything open to grab a cocktail and some food...while in South Beach our adventure began when we stalled out a light...well not really stalled out...we ran out of gas. Taylor's first time ever running out of gas at the age of 30 in bumper to bumper traffic. We all got out and pushed the car...the picture shows Lori and Michael after we pushed the car to an alley way and called triple A. They said thirty minutes and the parking attendant at the lot next door said someone had to wait with the car or they would tow it. Taylor was gracious enough to stay with the car; so much for 30 minutes; it took them 1.5 hours to bring 1 gallon of gas and the gas station was two blocks away...go figure.
