Taken From the South Corner of 14th and U
This was the scene around 2am as we were leaving U Street to go home...this pic does not really do it justice, the police had the streets blocked from W down to U Street and at least between 13th and 14th there had to be thousands of people out there. I am up but not awake...I completely did NOT get up in time to go to my Drs appt. and I called into work today because my head might hurt one time...damn champers.
Check the pics on The District, Sister D, and Kitsy's blogs too...the scene here in DC was off the charts...while staying home and seeing everything and being able to hear things was great...walking outside and seeing the people out was fantastic. We decided we couldn't stand it anymore and that we had to at least walk down to 14th street from the house...that turned into U Street and friends you could feel the excitement in the air. While I may not be so happy about staying up so late I am 100% glad that Skittles and I were able to experience this moment in history. I am proud that I live in DC, this country, and I am proud of the 62 million people that voted for changing this country.
